Why come to a Constellation Session?

At first it may seem really scary the thought of coming to a workshop.  But once the workshop starts the fear can shift and turn into something much more useful and resourceful to you.  A lot of people fear exposing parts of themselves that are very personal and private.  The strangely wonderful thing about the workshops is you can come and do very deep work, often without talking about your own personal stuff at all.  The best way to do this is by coming as a rep.  I will be posting some rep testimonials shortly to set out what a difference repping can make to people's lives.

I find it hard to talk about the workshops without resorting to flowery and confusing language, so I tried listing reasons to come instead.  Below are what I think are some really good reasons.

  • This work really helps shift stuck problems
  • It helps you see or recognise hidden forces at work in your life
  • I can't say strongly enough how it helps you to move into a more authentic powerful version of you
  • It helps you drop attitudes or opinions that have held you back in life
  • It helps you to move towards a better, stronger healthier you
  • It helps you to let go of burdens, (sometimes hidden ones) that you have been carrying. Sometimes they are burdens that are so close to you, you have always known they are there, but never quite recognised them
  • It gives you insight into what motivates other people in your family and helps you see how your judgement or perception of their difficult behaviours and sharp edges could be wrong

There are two ways of participating in a workshop - as an issue holder or as a rep.  As an issue holder you get a chance to bring and talk about your own issue.  Usually something that is totally burning in you and something you have been longing to sort out for years.  As a rep, you are able to keep your own issues to yourself more and learn from witnessing and participating in other people's constellations.  There is often great learning and healing that happens when you come as a rep.

Why differentiate between Issue Holders and Representatives?

Many facilitators at registration stage do not differentiate between issue holders and representatives because they take the view that the issue holder is holding an issue not just for themselves but for the whole group.  There is truth in this.  However.... My personal experience was when I was desperate for a resolution in my life, turning up at a workshop where there could have been a bun fight for issue holding generated an additional stress in my.  And others have told me in these situations they spend the workshop fretting about whether they will get a chance to do their own issue or not.  I have also noticed that for people who hold themselves back, they will automatically hold themselves back and not give themselves the opportunity to take the limelight.
However for me, once I had calmed down the desperation in my life, I was able to allow myself the experience and gift in representing.  And I was able to recognise that sometimes I accessed more insights and learnings from representing than standing in my own. Representing gives you both the distance and the connected experience to take in new learnings and insights.  I cannot recommend it enough and there are people who attend almost all of my sessions for the sheer joy and connection of representing.

Participating  as a representative:
  • Gives you an opportunity to see what its like to walk in someone else's shoes
  • Enables seeing possible resolution of a situation in work or family that reflects your own experience
  • Supports participation in or witnessing  dramas that unfold that give insight into your own life and family
  • Builds courage and trust in your own intuition
  • Supports your experience of being safely held in a group where strong emotions  are experienced & contained
  • Allows participation in the work without having to go through exposing your own issues if you are not ready.
  • Helps you recognise when the situation feels safe enough for you to bring your own issues
  • Means leaving having learned more about  humanity and how to allow yourself to experience more support in your life or love
