What are Constellations?
Constellations offer a way of working with hidden dynamics within a system. This can be used as a powerful means of exploring unacknowledged events and patterns. By surfacing these invisible dynamics, we can release them and create resolution.
Constellations can be used to look at personal issues or issues within bigger systems such as businesses, NGO's and other organisations - constellators have even constellated political movements and countries - which always gives much food for thought for all participants.
Constellations are a way of setting up a "living map" using people as markers for different elements of a system. It is almost like creating an external image of an image one holds in ones head about a situation.
We then work with two elements - embodied experience (sometimes known as intuition) and systemic principles.
The work is surprisingly powerful and at the very least creates "aha moments" . It usually creates change. By enabling us to see hidden obstacles we can tackle them and move forward in life whether within our family systems or wider society.
We start our lives being introduced to the world through the filters of our family perspective and so family constellations can be the most powerful to impact our own personal life and interaction with the world.
Organisational constellations can demonstrate some of the hidden or forgotten elements in a system that without acknowledgement can play havoc with the smooth running of that organisation.
Difficult or destructive behaviours in yourself or the people around you can be hard to deal with and are usually shaped by trauma - sometimes from 3 or 4 previous generations. Participating in a constellation, enables people to find a strength and compassion to see these elements more clearly.
A family constellation session can stand alone, or a person may wish to work on an issue over time. Constellations can complement psychotherapy, counselling and/or spiritual work. More information can be found on the links page
The group work is always intimate, respectful and confidential. Some people can be concerned about working in this way locally. Please do speak to me if you are concerned about confidentiality, so we can find an appropriate way to work.
People participate as issue holders or representatives. An issue holder comes and works on an issues. Representatives do not have to reveal their own issues and work in the service of the issue holder. The magic is that representatives inevitably make huge gains too. This means that all parties benefit from the workshop.
Since the lockdown I have been hosting constellation sessions online. More information about workshops dates are hereWorkshop dates
